Title: PIARC ITS Handbook - 2nd Edition
Abstract: The PIARC Technical Committee on Network Operations has completed a new extended edition of the ITS Handbook. This includes the experience gained since the first edition, provides information about the status of implementation of ITS technologies in 33 countries and presents 39 detailed case studies. Title: ITS Operations Resource Guide (New and Improved)
Abstract: The ITS Joint Program Office is pleased to present its updated ITS/Operations Resource Guide website. This website is a comprehensive listing of over 400 documents, videos, websites, training courses, software tools, and points-of-contact related to ITS and transportation operations. Included in this update are:
  • New chapters on tolling and pricing, the ITS Integration program, and the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) legislation enacted last August.
  • A new group of chapters that specifically highlight safety related topics.
  • New websites that compile resources related to archived data and planning for operations.
  • Four new and/or updated software tools with comprehensive information on the benefits, costs, lessons learned and extent of U.S. deployment in ITS.
  • New training courses covering a wide range of topic areas, including commercial vehicle operations (CVO), transportation system management and operations (TSM&O), planning and integration, road weather management, rural ITS, traffic incident management, transit, transportation security, the Commercial Vehicle Information Systems and Networks (CVISN) program, procurement practices, standards implementation, and telecommunications.
